Evergreen Awards has named SDG:Zero the Best Sustainable Business Directory in UK of 2026, a mere two months after its launch.
After reviewing our mission, business model, market relevance, and growing reputation, judges were able to recognise a business that solves real market problems with clarity, credibility, and measurable value.
They said the recognition reflects the company’s practical approach to helping SMEs to communicate social impact in a way customers, suppliers, and communities can understand. At a time when trust matters more than ever, SDG:Zero has created a platform that helps SMEs turn responsible business activity into visible proof.
Many businesses already support their communities, create jobs, build partnerships, and operate responsibly. Judges insisted the challenge is not always the work itself, but showing that work clearly.
“SDG:Zero addresses this gap by helping SMEs align their efforts with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in a practical and business friendly way,” they said. “Instead of overwhelming owners with technical language, they translate complex sustainability concepts into understandable actions and recognisable trust signals.
“That ability to simplify a global framework for everyday business use is one of the strongest reasons this award has been granted. Customers often choose businesses they know, like, and trust. SDG:Zero understands that credibility is no longer optional in the digital marketplace.”
Through its directory platform, businesses can showcase what they do, demonstrate which SDGs they support, and present a stronger identity to value conscious customers and commercial partners. This creates a clearer story for the market and helps businesses stand out for authentic reasons.
Founder Neville Gaunt says he has positioned the company around what he calls a timely truth. “Small businesses are the engine of local economies, yet many do not receive the visibility they deserve. SDG:Zero gives them a stronger voice,” he said.
Another reason for this award is the SDG:Zero Vault, a growing resource hub offering templates, guides, learning materials, and tools for those involved in small businesses at all levels, from owners to students, retirees, and job seekers.
Judges said this “education focused approach strengthens long term usefulness and community benefit”.
